Equine-assisted therapy is a form of therapy that involves working with horses to promote emotional, physical, and mental well-being. Horses are highly intuitive animals that respond to human emotions and behavior, making them powerful partners in the healing process. At Quarter Moon Acres, participants engage in activities such as grooming, leading, groundwork, and therapeutic riding to build confidence, improve communication, and support overall growth and healing.
Quarter Moon Acres serves children and adults with a wide range of needs, including physical disabilities, developmental challenges, emotional difficulties, and mental health conditions. We also offer programs for veterans and first responders. Individuals seeking personal growth, connection, and healing are also welcome.
Each session is approximately 60 minutes and may include grooming, learning about horse care, riding, and engaging in therapeutic activities. Sessions are designed to meet each participant’s individual needs and goals while providing a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment.
There are many ways to support Quarter Moon Acres. You can volunteer your time, make a financial donation, sponsor a rider or horse, attend fundraising events, or help spread awareness about our mission. Every contribution helps us continue providing life-changing experiences through equine-assisted therapy.
No horse experience is required to participate or volunteer. Our trained staff and volunteers provide guidance and support throughout each session. We welcome individuals of all experience levels.
